Factory: New Hall Porcelain Factory
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain transfer-printed underglaze blue with ‘Emerging Boats’ or ‘Two Ducks’ pattern.
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, transfer-printed underglaze in blue. Bute shape cup with ring handle. The cup is decorated with a continuous Chinese landscape known as 'Emerging Boats, or Two Ducks pattern : from right to left, a group of buildings, a tree, a trellis fence, a river or lake with two small boats, two ducks in the foreground, and emerging from behind the fence, a man in a boat travelling to the left towards a pagoda on the opposite bank; emerging from behind it is another man fishing from a boat, and in the middle, a house and tree on an island and in the distance two mountains.There is a horizontal gold band below the scene and on the rim. Inside the cup there is a border of trellis pattern, and flower heads within C scrolls. Down the back of the handle there is a vertical gold line.
