Steatitic soft-paste porcelain, moulded with fluted sides, painted overglaze in ‘dry blue’ enamel and gilded. The tea bowl has a facetted rim, deep facetted sides with sixteen flutes on the exterior, and stands on a footring. Inside there is a central sprig, and a dentilated gold band round the rim. The outside is decorated with one large mixed floral spray, two single flower sprays, a small bud, and two separate leaves. The saucer (A) has an inverted scalloped rim, sloping sides, fluted internally, and stands on a footring. It is decorated with one mixed floral spray, two single flower sprays, one small fruit spray, and a single leaf. A dentilated gold band encircles the edge.The coffee cup (B) is narrower than the tea bowl, with deep fluted sides, and a loop handle with a slight kick at the bottom, and stands on a footring. It has a dentilated gold band on the inside edge of the rim, and the outside is decorated with one large mixed floral spray, and two single flower sprays matching those on the bowl.
