Hard-paste porcelain decorated with yellow ground colour, pale green, yellow, red, purple, brown, and black enamels, and gilt. Circular with sloping sides, and recessed base. Decorated in the centre with a bird standing on a small rock surrounded by leaves and small plants, and with a taller plant behind it. The base is painted in black enamel with the name of the bird, 'Gelinote male,/des Pyrénées'.
