Factory: New Hall Porcelain Factory
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted underglaze in blue and overglaze in red and gold with an Imari style patern featuring a castle and beehive. Pattern no. 570
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted in Imari style in underglaze in blue, and overglaze in red enamel and gilding. The cup is of London shape, and the saucer is circular with deep sloping sides, standing on a footring. The exterior of the cup and the interior of the saucer are decorated with a landscape featuring a building with a tower, and a crenellated wing, a ball-shaped beehive, and flanked by stylized trees and bushes, and with a flowering plant in the foreground. The interior of the cup has a gold border of bell flowers with a horizontal band below, gold bands on the edges of rim and foot, and a gilded handle. The saucer has a gold band round the rim. Pattern 570.
