Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted with black and puce enamel, and gilded: narrow border of continuous stem of leaves with berries. Pattern no. 280.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted overglaze with black and puce enamels, and gilded. The cup is of Bute shape with loop handle. Inside there is a central gold star-like flowerhead, and gold horizontal band below the rim. The outside has a narrow border below the rim, comprising a wavy black stem with tiny trefoil leaves, puce berries and gold trefoil leaves. There are gold bands round the footring, the rim, and the sides of the handle, which also has a vertical gold line down its back. Pattern 280.
