Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in black and puce enamels and gilded; a border of a continuous wavy stem with black and gold leaves and puce berries. Pattern no. 280.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted overglaze in black and puce enamels, and gilded. The circular cup has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The saucer has curved sides and stands on a footring. The cup is decorated inside with a gold star-like flowerhead, and below the rim with a border comprising a black wavy stem with tiny trefoil leaves, puce berries, and gold trefoil leaves. There is a gold band on the rim, and on the exterior below the rim and round the footring. The saucer is decorated en suite but also has a gold circle around the central star-flower. Pattern 280.
