Factory: New Hall Porcelain Factory
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted in two-tone purplish-brown enamel with strawberry leaves and pairs of strawberries on an undulating gold stem. Pattern no. 285.
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, glazed, painted overglaze in two tones of purplish-brown enamel, and gilded. The cup has deep almost straight sides, curving inwards slightly at the footring, and having a loop handle. The circular saucer has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The cup is decorated on the outside at the top with a border of pairs of two-tone purplish-brown strawberries alternating with a single leaf, on an undulating gold stem with smaller gold leaves branching off it. Below there a horizontal gold band, with a very narrow one below, and there iare further bands round the rim and base. The back of the handle is decorated with a few gold tiny dots and four stylized gold trefoil leaves.The saucer has one purplish-brown strawberry and a leaf on a gold stem in the centre, and a similar border around the edge.
