Factory: New Hall Porcelain Factory
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels with a pink dotted trellis border, a dotted wavy line and floral sprigs. Pattern 173.
Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted overglaze in blue, green, pink, puce, purple and red enamels. The tea bowl has deep curved sides and a high footring. The circular saucer (A) has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The coffee cup (B) has deep almost straight sides which curve in to the low footring . The cup is decorated on the inside with a central red and green floral sprig, and round the upper edge with a wide pink border with red edges, overlaid by puce dotted trellis pattern. The border curves downwards at six points, at three of which it has a pair of purple dotted flowerheads and leaves, and at the other three a purple rose, and a pair of red dotted flowerheads and leaves. On the exterior there is a rose spray and five other blue or red floral sprays, with above, an undulating line of purple dots. The saucer is decorated to match. The coffee cup has a similar inside border, but no central floral spirg. On the exterior it has a rose spray and two smaller blue and red floral sprigs, and an undulating line of purple dots below the rim. On the back of the handle, in puce, are five dots, a fan-shaped flower, a vertical stroke, and a V on the terminal.

Tea and coffee sets were usually provided with one saucer to each teabowl or teacup and coffee cup. The two cups and one saucer are often described as a trio, but it is not known whether these were originally together.
