Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 154 x 145 mm, two four-line musical staves ruled in red, two fragmentary lines of text ruled in pale brown ink.

CONTENTS: On reverse, fragmentary text, Bene[dicta tu es in] mulieribus; the historiated initial may have introduced the Introit to the Mass for the Feast of the Assumption, Gaudeamus omnes.

DECORATION: Historiated initial [probably G] in dark pink with folded back petal motifs on gold ground: Assumption of the Virgin.

ORNAMENTATION: Red initial [B, height of the gap between staves] with purple pen flourishing on reverse.
