Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 270 x 260 mm, two fragmentary four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and three fragmentary lines of text ruled in brown ink on reverse.

CONTENTS: The initial, which would have been on recto of the original leaf, opened the Introit of the Mass for Pentecost, Spiritus domini replevit orbem terrarium, followed on the reverse by parts of Ps 67:2, [Exsurgat Deus et dissipentur inimi]ci eius et fugiant [qui oderunt eum a] facie eius. Gloria.

DECORATION: Historiated initial formed of two dolphins on black ground with red floral ornament, their tales extending into acanthus, flowers and branches with fruit: [S, 2 ll.] Pentecost.
