Formerly attributed to Samuel Cooper. 'Copied from the well known portrait by Riley' (Oliver Millar). 'As Dixon had taken over the role of appointed miniaturist from S.C., I would have thought these (3834 also) are certainly by Dixon though not his best' (H.W.)
