PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 305 x 200 mm, four columns (outer columns of gloss severely trimmed), main text in two central columns (220 x 130 mm), 44 lines, ruled in plummet, varying number of lines for the gloss
CONTENTS: Gregory IX, Decretales, Bk V
DECORATION: Small column miniature [11 ll.] within an architectural frame extending into foliate scroll and rods for Bk V of Gregory IX’s Decretales and showing a pope or a bishop receiving a plea from a group of clerics on the right and another one from a lawyer or nobleman accompanied by secular companions on the left.
ORNAMENTATION: Alternate blue and red penwork initials [2 ll.] with red or blue pen-flourished infill and extensions; alternate blue and red one-line penwork initials.
