Approximately oval in plan with undulating sides, notched at each end and having a depression on each side to facilitate handling. The interior sides are moulded in relief with four long leaves. On the base there are four patch marks, two at each end.
In the centre, is a basket filled to overflowing with flowers, including pansies, roses and peonies. On each side of the base, between the moulded leaves, there are two curving sprays of flowers and foliage, growing from the edge of the basin towards the centre, and then curving in opposite directions along the sides. There is an ant at the upper right side of the basin, and a ladybird (?) on the upper left side, covering blemishes in the glaze. The moulded foliage is outlined in gold.
