Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 130 x 110 mm, five lines of fragmentary text and part of a four-line musical stave ruled in red ink on reverse.

CONTENTS: Fragmentary text from the sequence, offertory and communion of the Proper of a Mass, Dominus vobiscum. Or[ati]o. Deus…/…Fratris iustificati i…/…[pos]tea dicitur sequentia. Veni / …resurgens ibo d…/…um deum. Off[ertorium]. Domine dues s[anctus]. Co[mmunio]

ORNAMENTATION: Pink initial [D, 11 ll.] with acanthus foliage and gold balls infill on blue background.

History note: Kept in the autograph album of Phillis M. Ellis, daughter of the antiquarian bookseller Frederick S. Ellis (1830 – 1901)
