PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 133 x 133 mm, three four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and three lines of fragmentary text ruled in hard point on reverse.
CONTENTS: On reverse, part of the Alleluia verse for the feast of St Laurence (10 August), [Levi]ta Lauren[tius bonum o]pus operatus est qui per signum [crucis caecos illuminavit.]; the initial, which would have been on the verso of the original leaf, introduced the Introit of the Mass for the Assumption of the Virgin (15 August), Gaudeamus omnes in domino.
DECORATION: Historiated initial in gold on green or dark red ground with stylized foliate motifs painted in silver and terminating in red flowers, surrounded by multi-coloured frames: [G, 3 ll.] Dormition of the Virgin.
ORNAMENTATION: Blue penwork one-line initial [V]
