Initial from an Antiphoner

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 110 x 124 mm, two four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and two lines of fragmentary text ruled in plummet.
CONTENTS: On reverse, responsory to the second lesson at Matins for the feast of St Stephen, [Videbant omnes Stephanum qui erant in con]cilio. Et in[tuebantur uultum eius tan]quam uultum an[geli stantis inter illos]; the initial S would have introduced the responsory to the first lesson at Matins for the feast of St Stephen, Stephanus autem plenus gratia.
DECORATION: Historiated initial in pink, grey and beige, [S] Martyrdom of St Stephen, with Saul observing.
