Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 72 x 79 mm, one line of fragmentary text on recto and four lines of fragmentary text on reverse, ruled in hardpoint.

CONTENTS: Recto, fragmentary text, […]mus illuc tendat; on reverse, fragmentary text from the Mass for Rogation days, Monday and Tuesday preceding the Ascension, which begins with the Litany [In Litaniis maioribus et minoribus], and Collect [Presta quaesumus omnipotens deus ut qui in afflictione nostra de tua pietate] confidimus contra omnia [adversa, tu semper prot]ectione muniamur. Per [Dominum], and from the Secret of the same Mass, Secreta. [Haec munera, quaesumus Domine] et uincula [nostra praeuitate abs]oluant et tue nobis [misericordiae dona concilient]; the initial would have introduced the Introit, Exaudiuit de templo sancto.

DECORATION: Historiated initial in blue with segments of foliate motifs, on a dark blue ground [E, 4 ll.]: Bust of Christ holding a book and raising his hand in blessing.
