Initial from a Dominican Antiphoner
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 110 x 106 mm, two four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and two fragmentary lines of text ruled in brown ink on reverse.
CONTENTS: On reverse, fragmentary text, probably from the end of the Antiphon for the psalms at First Vespers in the Dominican rite for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (29 June), [Quem dicunt homines esse filium hominis ... tu es Pe]trus et su[per hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam]; the initial would have introduced the responsory for the first lesson at Matins for the same feast, Simon Petre, antequam de navi vocarem te.
DECORATION: Historiated initial formed of foliate motifs on a solid blue ground: [S, 2 ll.] Saints Peter and Paul, one standing, the other crouching, with angel above.
