Description

A fragment of a larger, hollow object. Outside resembles an ingot while the inside clearly shows that it was originally hollow. Badly broken so that the purpose is no longer comprehensible. Although the date listed is uncertain, evidence from the site at Torksey suggests that metalworking took place there in the Viking-Age. This material can be tentatively associated with this activity.
