A copper-alloy/iron object in the shape of a smooth turtle shell. On the base is a circular section which appears to form a socket. Although the date listed is uncertain, evidence from the site at Torksey suggests that metalworking took place there in the Viking-Age. This material can be tentatively associated with this activity.
