Amethyst scarab, engraved with the figure of a winged griffin and set in a 19th-century gold ring setting. The ring is inscribed inside 'Siena Oct 10 1860 Rome Nov 8' and outside 'ETRVSCO' suggesting it was purchased in Siena and set into the ring in Rome that year.
