Description

Cotton warp. Cotton weft. Wool pile. Symmetric knot.
Ends flat woven, turned over or raw. Sides over-sewn with red wool; trimmed/faced with purple fringing.
Saddle slits; large, flat woven edges with remnants of leather binding; smaller slit oversewn red wool. Remnant of leather for pommel.
Dark blue ground; repeat pattern of scrolls, "boteh" and sprigs (debased Herati?); smaller more geometric pattern in spandrels. Simple quadruple band border.
