Bone china, decorated wth a pink border with reserved raised and gilded scrolls, and painted in polychrome enamels in the middle with a fish and water weeds
Bone china, pressed, and decorated with pink ground colour, painting in blue, shades of green, yellow, brown, purple and a little black, and gilt. The circular plate has a shaped edge, sloping rim, shallow curved sides, and flat centre, standing on a footring. The centre is decorated with a naturalistically-coloured fish swimming towards the left between groups of water weeds. The decorator’s signature ‘T. HASSALL’ is on the lower right side of the vignette. The edge of the well is defined by a gold band with raised beading and an inner border of pendant buds and spots. The rim is moulded in relief with three anthemion motifs linked by foliated scrolls outlined in gold reserved in a solid pink ground. The shaped edge is gilded.
