Description

Bone china with very thin walls, decorated with a turquoise ground, jewelling in red, white and blue enamel, and gilded. The cup has deep sloping sides curving inwards to the footing, and a ring handle. The circular saucer has shallow curved sides, standing on a footring. The exterior of the cup has a turquoise ground overalid by vertical gold stems with alternately red and white jewels. Above there is a horizontal border of stylized flower heads and leaves with white or red jewels on them. This is repeated on the white interior of the cup. The handles gilded overall, and there are two gold bands round the footring. The saucer has a white medallion in the middle with a gilded and jewelled rosette in the centre with one blue spot in the centre. The sides are decorated en suite with the exterior of the cup.
