Beaded purse. Beads, 24 to the inch, on crocheted silk. Background colour opalescent with blue, green, grey, pink, red. Crocheted circularly one bead to each stitch, tapered at bottom by six sets of intakes and finished by a tassel of coral coloured beads. It is gathered at the top to two gilt bars with a coral bead at each end, fastened by a gilt ring decorated with coral beads and attached by a gilt chain.
The decoration reading clockwise - a table tomb with an urn overflowing with roses on it, a tall cypress tree, at its foot a little church, a column wreathed with roses, at its base a tablet with S upon it, a cypress tree. The background of the lower 1.5" is dark red, its upper edge zigzagged, in each triangular section formed by the intakes is a motif formed by massed flowers.
