  • Text: Le matin du 6 Septembre 1914 les troupes allemandes se sont massées dans la forêt de Facq. / Un simple batallion d'infanterie française, sous l'héroîsme conduite du commandent MONTLEBERT, et appuyé de deux / batteries d'artillerie sont groupés dans le village de Sainte-Genevière. Vers la fin du jour les troupes allemandes débou- / chent du bois de Facq, soutenues par un feu d'artillerie qui arrosait les alentours du cimetière. Nos troupes résistent et / luttent avec âpreté : une de nos batteries s'est tue. On téléphone au commandent MONTLEBERT de se replier, mais il refuse / et déclare qu'il ne se repliera que sur un ordre écrit. La maison où se tenait le commandant s'effondre sous les obus / et il roule à terre : blessé légèrement, il regrette de ne pas avoir été tué sur le coup car il est maintainent contraint à / faire sonner la retraite... Retraite qu quelque heures. / Le 7 au soir, deux compagnies françaises réoccupaient Sainte-Genevière et l'ennemi démoralisé se repliait pour ne plus / revenir.
