Cotton or linen, loosely woven, horizontal strips of silk with three vertical ones at each side, embroidered with polychrome silk and gilt thread in double darning, fishbone, and satin stitches. At each end a 0.25" deep band of lozenges worked in gold thread, and above it three sprays of carnations, a hyacinth, berries and leaves. Fringe of ravelled threads, twisted and knotted.
