Red wool embroidered with polychrome silk and gold and silver threads in chain stitch. Standing within Mihrab a 27" high vase of flowers; in the spandrils above sprays with coiling stems, leaves and flowers.
Three borders - (a) 4.5" deep waved stem with leaves and flowers; (b) 7" deep at the sides, 5" at the top and bottom, two panels with vases of flowers, the interspaces being filled by symmetrical sprays of flowers; (c) 3" deep waved stem with leaves and flowers. Except within the Mihrab and border panels the background is entirely covered by embroidery in metal thread.
