Linen, tabby weave, embroidered with polychrome crewel wools in French knots, long and short, satin and stem stitches, with couched and laid work.
Curtains - A tree with two main stems rising from a small green hillock. The tree bears leaves, flowers, and fruits, and flying among them or perched on the branches are phoenix and other fabulous birds. A 6" border has been added to the bottom of each curtain, the pattern formed by waved stems with leaves and flowers resembling those on the curtains themselves, and a band of semicircular scallops at the lower edge.
Bases - A 7" border embroidered in the same pattern as that on the border of the curtains has been seamed to a band of linen of coarser texture.
Valances - A band of scallops either side, the remainder of the ground covered with trailing stems, flowers and leaves like those on the curtains.
