Description

Cotton, woven in horizontal lines, embroidered with polychrome silk and silver gilt thread, in double darning, double running, fishbone and satin stitches. At each end a 0.75" deep band of a waved stem with a pear and leaf. Above it four horizontal repeats of a shallow bowl with a foot, and in it a melon with a knife cutting it to disclose the seeds. Fringe ravelled.
