Dark cream-coloured earthenware, the body thrown, the handle and spout moulded, painted in red black enamels. The pot has an ovoid body with projecting footring, and crabstock handle and spout; the slightly conical cover has a knob in the form of a flower facing upwards, a ventilation hole, and on the underside a ring which fits inside the body. One side of the pot is decorated with a gentleman holding a gun standing to the viewer's left of a gate with a small tree beside it. A dog with its right front paw raised stands to the left of the man looking up at him, There is a stylized plant on the extreme left, and a cloud and four birds overhead. On the other side there are two buildings flanked by trees, and behind them a windmill on a hill beside a tree, with a cloud and three flying birds overhead. The cover is decorated with one building beside a tree and a bush, with a cloud and four flying birds on the other side of the knob, which is edged in red.
