Creamware plate with scalloped edge and pierced rim, painted overglaze in green and black enamel with floral sprays
Dark cream earthenware, moulded, pierced, lead-glazed, and painted in green and black enamels. Circular with a scalloped edge, sloping slightly fluted rim pierced on alternate scallops with a stylized flower with elliptical and lozenge-shaped petals surrounded by four paired circular holes alternativing with single holes. The well has deep, curved sides, and stands on a footring. The centre is painted with a stylized floral spray and there are six floral sprays on the sides and rim between the pairs of pierce motifs. These are springing alternately from the well or the edge of the rim.
