Description

Enamelled watch case back.

CASE BACK: Unused polychrome enamelled watch case back. Back of watch case, copper base with counter enamel, holes for pendant, case opening and spring rivet. Back with polychrome enamel, painted with a subject taken from the painting "The Governess" by J. B. S. Chardin 1739.
The spring hole has been blocked up and some attempt has been made to colour it to blend in with the picture
