Verge watch in enamelled gold case, with enamelled gold chatelaine.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'L'Epine Hr. du Roy A Paris.' Pierced balance bridge with four pierced 'C' motifs, polished steel coquette. Silver regulation dial, two scales with 'A' and 'R' at ends, plain blued steel hand. Plain fusee cock, plain foot to counter-potance.
Plain rectangular fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with conical end, nib under dial. Adjustable potance. Plain counter-potance with polished steel end piece. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, tapered outwards towards each end from ring about one third up from pillar plate, centre wheel recessed. Under dial centre recessed, '9872' scratched under hour wheel. Third wheel bridge, curved to fit recess with round extension for pivot. Fusee and chain, one lip on barrel, set-up click under dial, third wheel bridge. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, edge gilt, three feet. '9782' scratched in counter enamel. Outer ring of Arabic 5 min. figures, ladder minute ring, dot at 5 mins. Radial Roman chapters, centre painted with l'Epine above centre and 'hger. du Roy' and 'A.PARIS' below, all straight lines. Winding hole at 1.30, at inside of chapters circle.

HANDS: Gold, pierced Louis XV style.

CASE: Gold consular case with circular enamel plaque on back. Depiction of Love to the left, under a tree in a walled garden with the sun settng over trees in the background. To the right, is a dove on the end of a ribbon over a cylindrical altar of love, with two smoking hearts on top. The pink translucent sky is on an engine-turned background. The plaque is in a narrow gold ring within an enamelled ring of two narrow blue rings, with central gold figure-of-eight ring with white enamel dots. Edge of bezel and body has enamel filled chased design. Stepped cylindrical pendant with cylindrical top having indistinct assay (?) mark. Stirrup bow. Inside 'JG' on inside of bezel at 9 o'clock.

CHATELAINE (A): Gold and enamelled. Two sections of four chains, outer chains oval links with filigree. Inner chains of shorter oval enamelled links with light blue oval, with white outer oval. Gold enamelled bar between sections of chain with line of pierced pearls in centre. Bottom gold enamelled plate with five drops. Plate with two lines of pierced pearls, top and bottom with enamelled circular plaque between, one each side, with blue and white enamel supports. Plaque of lady with dog, other of lady with lambs. All drops include a circular enamelled plaque of circular enamel design.
Drops include a key and seal, cut with monogram 'AR'.
