Description

Verge watch in pear shaped gold and enamelled case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Ae Moilliet & Ce. N18439' and painted on dial 'Ante Moilliet & Ce'. Balance bridge pierced and engraved with radial pattern, polished steel coquette. Silver regulation disc with 'A' and 'R' at ends of scale. Plate engraved around edge as above. Turned fusee iron post, case bolt, with conical end, in slot in plate, nib under dial. Adjustable potance. Counter-potance screwed to plate with polished steel end piece and adjusting screw. Pillar plate with four turned, wasted, pillars. Centre wheel recessed. Under dial, blued set up click, plate stamped '18439' and scratched '3'. Fusee and chain, set-up click under dial, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

HANDS: Blued steel, broken stub hour, plain pointed minute.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, three feet. Counter enamel scratched '6' and painted '409 (?)'. Vertical Arabic quarter figures, minute ring with internal line minute lines, vertical Arabic chapters. Name painted in arc above 6 o'clock. Winding hole at 1.30.

CASE: Pear-shaped, gold and enamel, with neo-classical borders. Base, dial cover, chased with gold castellated design in blue enamel. Translucent deep green enamel band with chased gold stems having white enamel flowers. Bottom chased leaf design in recess surrounded by blue and translucent orange enamel. Body, holding movement and with hollow compartment. Chased gold castellated design in blue enamel band, four oval panels of chased birds surrounded by translucent orange enamel, chased swags with white enamelling surrounded with lines of gold. Lid, covering hollow body of pear, black enamel with lines of gold. Pendant loop of threaded gold wire.
