Description

Bidriware hugga base and stand. The hugga base is bell shaped, splaying outwards towards the lower edge.
The stand is circular and domed on four low curved feet, with a circular depression with a circular hole in the centre in which the hugga base rests.
Both pieces are decorated with oval medallions containing birds amid flowers and foliage. One of those on the stand contains a vase of flowers with an inscription below. Another contains a vase of flowers, a pair of birds and a partially erased name in capital letters, possibly 'S. Meu(?)da(?) Ku(?)an'.
Between the medallions there are buildings, birds and animals amid flowering plants. Above and below the design on the hugga base there are borders of flowers and foliage on a scrolling stem; there is a similar border on the outer edge of the stand.
