Copy after Philips Galle's engraving for the 1567 series of portraits 'Virorum Doctorum de Disciplinis benemerentium Effigies XLIIII', reverse direction (Galle's print was in turn engraved after a painting by Cranach). Plate numbered lower right corner: 3. Latin in margin 'Pro meritis quae digna.... molliter illa suas'.
