Inscriptions on bottom "F. Cotes Pinxt." and "V. Green fecit" and "R. Sayer Perfecit" and "London, Printed for Robt. Sayer, No. 53 in Fleet Street / Published as the Act directs 1st Jany 1771". Inscription in pencil on the back "… Joseph Gulston who died in his 14th year July 16 1786. / He formed an ....[?] collection ... [?] portraits offered this collection to the Emperor of Russia for £20.000 which was refused. The colelction was sold in London on a 40 days sale realized ...[unreadable]".
