Permit me to convey to Thee How thy heart is dear to me
Embossed white and silvered lace paper in landscape format with semi-circular aperture and net blind overlaying an oval, varnished chromolithograph of roses, passion flower and convolvulus with a gilded border. The printmaker's details are obscured by the fact that the front-paper is pasted to the back and so cannot be lifted. A motto printed on a cut-paper open book with gilded edge at upper centre: 'Permit me to convey to / Thee / How thy heart is dear / to me'.
