Valentine card

Loose within album P.14347-R. A lithograph on 4to-sized wove paper with a large, hand-coloured vignette at upper centre featuring a soldier and a lady on a path in a landscape, the soldier pointing with his right hand to a church in the distance on the left. Below, an illuminated letter begins a printed verse: "Light of my soul, my faithful Page, / My messenger, Lover's war to wage: …". The inside pages are blank. One of a series. Other numbers from the same series are: P.14347-R-L9, P.14347-R-L11, P.14347-R-L12, P.14347-R-L13 (L11-L13 are duplicates), P.14347-R-L14, P.14346-R-24 and P.14346-R-25 (which features a sailor).
