Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted mainly in dark manganese with flowers and foliage in a vase

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed greyish-white and painted in blue and manganese-purple. Circular with a narrow rim, deep curved sides and flat base (Archer Shape I). The central area is painted with stylized flowers and foliage springing from a bulbous two-handled vase flanked by grasses enclosed by a blue circle. The rim is encircled by two narrow blue bands with spaced manganese-purple strokes beween them. vthere are two peg marks on the underside.
