19th Century, second half#

Note

The bust is probably of the infant Prince William III who was born in 1650, and as was customary then would have been dressed like a little girl until he was breeched. The image if similar to one of the Prince which is painted on a Delft plate, dated 1658, except that there he is wearing a hat (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam). However, the quality of the glass itself, suggests that it is façon de Venise revival of the 19th century rather than c. 1655.
