Description

Pale green blown glass jug, with a bulbous body, a short cylindrical neck with two anulets, a flaring rim, and a slender curved spout. With an applied ribbon handle which widens into a thick oval pad at its base. There is a pontil mark in the centre of the concave base.

History note: Howard Phillips, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, from whom purchased in August 1990; Sir Ivor and Lady Batchelor, St Andrew's Fife; Sir Ivor died on 24 April 2005; on loan since 2006 (Syndicate of 30 January)
