Verge watch in silver gilt case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Nicolas Cusinier A Paris'. Balance cock with circular pierced and engraved table with wings, foot elongated and pierced and engraved with free form edge. Steel balance. Pierced and engraved slide plate covering top plate above cock, silver regulation dial engraved with Roman figures I to III. Plate engraved as above across plate (partly obscured by cock) and around rectangular escapement hole. Unused holes under balance cock and slide plate. Rectangular fusee iron post with quarter circle profile. Blued steel case bolt, with nib through pillar plate, screwed to plate. Rectangular potance and counter-potance, both riveted to plate, side of counter-potance engraved. Pillar plate with four turned baluster shaped pillars and four tabs to fit case. Engraved edge around dial engraved. Split fusee with chain (fusee cut for gut), barrel with two lips, set up click under barrel. Verge escapement. Train, three pinions, planted anti-clockwise.

DIAL: Gilt brass, overlaps engraved edge of pillar plate, with edge cut to clear case bolt nib. Engraved with outer ring, radial Roman chapters with half-hour marks, two circles with radial Arabic numbers 1 to 24 between. Numbers between half-hour dots. Centre engraved with vase of flowers.

HAND: Blued steel with winged pointer and pointed tail.

CASE: Cast silver guilt, curved band with foliage, and two plaques at 4 and 8 o'clock. Repousse work. Back with scene of couple with three children in orchard. Pendant, turned ball. No ring. Cover with scene of battle. Plain inside with scratch marks '258' above 'S 50/-/-'. Joint, two rings riveted to cover. Outside of case stamped on edge, a about 3.30, and cover stamped at edge, at about 5 and 8 o'clock. With French Imported Articles mark for small items 'weevil' used from 1838-64
