Verge watch in gold repousse case set with diamonds and rubies

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'P. Dupin LONDON 1380'. Balance cock with pierced and engraved table having chamfered edge engraved with acanthus leaves. Face engraved at neck, foot pierced and engraved with narrow edge. Brass balance. Pierced and engraved slide plate, silver regulation dial with Roman numbers I to VI. Plate engraved as above. Pierced fusee iron post, case bolt in brass edge with nib through dial. Rectangular potance and counter potance, riveted to plate. Tangent set-up under barrel. Plain repeating barrel. Third wheel recessed. Pillar plate with four turned pillars having both ends tapered. Fusee and chain, barrel with on lip, set-up under barrel. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise. Runners with five pinions and governed by depthing pinion. Runners planted anti-clockwise. Polished hammers pointing clockwise.

REPEATING WORK: 1/4 mechanism. Chain repeating rack. All-or-nothing lever, over hour snail and star wheel, moved by lever on repeating rack. 'English' type mechanism. Pulse piece.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt, bayonet fixing and one screw, engraved around edge with acanthus leaves.

BELL: Back scratched 'Wyke'.

CAP: Gilt, engraved as top plate, semi-circular regulation aperture, wide blued steel slide clip.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, three feet. Outer radial Arabic 5 minute figures, ladder minute ring, radial Roman chapters, diamond set in silver half-hour marks. Inner line ring. Enamel dial to cut accept jewels, chip at 3.30 and 9.30.

HANDS: Silver Louis XV type set with diamonds.

INNER CASE: Plain bezel, body sides pierced and engraved, mask engraved at 6 o'clock and scene of house and tree with '1380' under at pendant. Plain pendant stem with cheese-shaped top, applied flower at top, side of top stamped twice with eagle's head, facing to right. Inside stamped '1380' and maker's mark 'SG' under a fish, head to the left. Body opening scratched '26 to 51'.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold repousse case set with diamonds and rubies. Bezel repousse and pierced, set with two diamonds set in silver with a ruby set in gold at four places, at 1.30 etc. Body repousse engraved and pierced panels at sides. Back repousse of verse of flowers set with diamonds in silver, and rubies in gold.
