Verge watch in enamel case

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'C Cabrier LONDON 3712'. Brass balance cock with winged table pierced and engraved, mask at neck, foot pierced and engraved. Polished steel coquette with faceted ruby end stone, pierced ruby in cock. Slide plate pierced and engraved, free form edge. Pierced fusee iron post. Adjustable potance screwed. Adjustable counter-potance screwed to top plate. Blued steel case bolt with flat decorated foot, nib riveted to bolt and projecting from side of movement. Pillar plate with four square section baluster pillars stamped 'C' next to fusee. Third wheel bar, which is a replacement with pierced jewels. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel with top lip only. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise

BRASS EDGE: Three feet, narrow radially chased border around recessed dial. Winding hole added.

DIAL: White enamel on copper with counter enamel. Radial Arabic 5 minute figures, ladder minute ring with three dots at hours, radial Roman chapters, inner ring. Winding hole at 3.30.

HANDS: Gold Louis XV style.

INNER CASE: Polychrome painted enamel on gold. Band with six cartouches with curved pillars and urns on top between, cartouches of sea scenes in sepia, between blue land scenes. Back painted with scene of the embarkation of Chariclee. Inside painted with radial pattern with masks in sides. Gold band added to opening, to support movement. Pendant attached to case by engraved oval plates, riveted together with pins, which partially covers a scene of ships. Plain split bezel. Cylindircal pendant, cheese shaped top with applied rosette on top, stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold, cast with repousse decoration, glass back and front. Bezel fits into groove in body, no closing clip. Opens in reverse sense to ordinary, ie. hinge is on the right when looking at dial.
