Verge watch in gold repousse case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'J. Grantham London 8290'. Balance cock, table pierced and engraved with lace edge and face at neck, foot engraved. Polished steel balance. Slide plate engraved, silver regulation dial engraved with Roman figures I to VI. Fusee iron post pierced. Polished steel case bolt, nib through dial, vertical pierced foot. Potance with foot having end moulding. Under dial scratch with what may be 'JK', '56', 'A2', 'CM', 'J Meplerrs', and '02'.
Fusee and chain, barrel with one lip. Set-up endless screw between plates. Verge escapement. Train planted anti clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt brass, three feet, three unused dial feet holes.

HANDS: Gilt brass, pierced double triangle minute, beetle hour.

DIAL: Gold champleve, too small for the brass edge, four feet. Radial Arabic 5 minute figures in polished cushions, arched ladder minute ring, inner pointing arrows at 5 minutes, double sideways arrows at quarters, radial Roman chapters having pike heads for half hour marks, polished ring to recessed centre. Separate centre with curved plaque engraved 'FAVER' under 12 and curved plaque engraved 'LONDON' above 6 o'clock. Background matted, pinned through dial.

INNER CASE: Gold, plain with case makers mark incuse 'HT' inside and London H.M. 1761. Bezel plain. Pendant, round stem and head, head with applied flower on top. Bull's eye glass. Plain stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold, deep with free standing, repousse body, repousse bezel. Body scene of man being received by Eastern potentate.

PROTECTIVE CASE: Gilt brass body with body and bezel covered in green shagreen with ring of decorative headed pins, body with large hole to receive a glass.

WATCH PAPER: Silk watch paper painted in polychrome of two ladies offering garlands to Cupid standing on the altar of love.
