Verge watch in oval case

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Antho: Reisbye fecit'. Balance cock with oval, pierced and engraved, table, round pierced and engraved foot, pinned through neck to rectangular post, having turned knob on top. Iron balance. Blued steel set up ratchet wheel and spring. Click spring is bent to act as a clip, as the clip is missing. Edge of plate engraved with foliate band and as above. Rectangular fusee iron post with formed profile. Case bolt slide under dial plate with nib through dial plate. Triangular section potance engraved on side, and with profiled end riveted to top plate. Counter potance fixed by screw to top plate. Split fusee, cut for gut but with chain. Barrel with two lips. The bottom lip is turned off, and a pin has been put through the pillar to prevent the chain from slipping off the barrel. Verge escapement. Train, three pinion, planted anti-clockwise. Pillar plate with four turned baluster pillars with square feet, hole to clear potance.

DIAL PLATE: Oval gilt brass with tongues to fit case, engraved with foliage and bird pattern around applied chapter ring. Engraved inside chapter ring with scene of ship in sail before a town. Silver applied chapter ring engraved with radial Roman chapters with half-hour marks, and ring of dots inside and outside chapters at hours.

HAND: Blued steel hour hand, arrow head, long baluster counter balance.

CASE: Oval gilt brass. Straight sides with silver band between mouldings front and back. Silver band engraved with foliage with rabbits and birds. Plain back of body with winding hole and cover disc engraved with a rose. Pendant of ring supported by a fish each side. Ring bow. Cover plain outside with inside engraved with wreath.

CHAIN: Iron round link, iron split ring at pendant.

KEY: Iron folding crank, fixed to end of chain.
