Quarter repeating verge watch in gold and enamel pair case, with chatelaine.
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Perigal & Co. London No 1510.' Balance cock with pierced, chased and matted table (top edge cut for 180 degree banking pin), solid foot chased and matt, blued steel end piece, diamond end stone. Brass balance. Two steel dust band screws with squares. Pierced, chased and matted slide plate, silver regulation disk with radial Roman figures I to VI. Rectangular fusee iron post with decorated end. Case bolt through brass barrel fixed by screws. Pillar plate with four turned pillars having fins at ends. Fusee and chain, planted clockwise. Runners, five pinions with depthing pinion. Runners planted anti-clockwise.
DUST BAND: Gilt with turned moulding at top.
BRASS EDGE: Plain gilt, fixed by bayonet catch.
REPEATING WORK: Polished steel 1/4 work with chain repeating rack. All or nothing from movement of hour cam follower on repeating rack.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, counter enamel with green flecks, two feet. Dotted minute ring between faint circles, bars at 5 minutes, radial Arabic chapters, faint inner ring.
HANDS: Gold arrow head.
BELL: Scratched on back 'D...y' and '1510.'
INNER CASE: Gold, engraved with foliage and pierced sides, engraved scene around pendant and mask at 6 o'clock. Centre engraved with spray of leaves. Inside stamped with maker's mark, incuse 'DA' with pellet between and 'C' or '3' above, not associated. Bezel with deep recess, breaking through, to clear case bolt nib. Pendant with rosette at end, stirrup bow.
OUTER CASE (A): Gold with enamel. Chased with leaf and vine design, filled with dark blue enamel on bezel and body edge. Pierced slots. Back of body with dark blue enamel floral spray. Inside with maker's mark, incuse 'DA' with pellet between.
CHATELAINE (B): Clip and three gold panels, chased and enamelled en suite with outer case. Heart shaped cut-crystal in gold frame, heart shaped locket with clear stone on one side, and repousse gold back. The inside was originally enamelled in green, but now has a red cloth lining.
WATCH KEY: Crank with handle enamelled en suite with case, attached to chatelaine.
