Verge watch in gold case, set with pearls and polychrome enamel, and enamelled chatelaine.
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement, engraved '1477' balance bridge pierced and engraved 'MATTHEY.' Brass balance. Silver regulation dial engraved 'Avance' and 'Retarde', bent gilt hand. Plain fusee cock. Plained turned fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt, truncated conical end, nib under dial. Adjustable potance. Counter-potance with polished steel end plate and adjusting screw, inside contrate arbour. Pillar plate with four plain turned pillars, sunk barrel, centre wheel, and third wheel. Under dial, slightly raised centre with polished steel case bolt spring. '1477' stamped near edge of plate, third wheel and contrate, double-ended, cock. Polished set-up ratchet and click. Fusee and chain, barrel with one lip, set-up click under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, gilt edge, two feet, counter enamel inscribed '1477'. Minute ring with star minute marks, vertical Arabic quarter figures, vertical Arabic chapters, winding hole at 2 o'clock. Plain centre.
HAND: Silver set with diamonds, version of spade and poker with star centre to hour hand.
CASE: Gold case set with pearls in polychrome enamelled back, set with diamonds. Bezel set with ring of forty-two pearls, back set with ring of forty-four pearls at edge. White enamel ring around polychrome picture of couple in landscape, with urn on pillar to left set with diamonds on blue translucent enamel over engine turning background. Inside plain gold with '8865-', and '13/10' scratched on back.
CHATELAINE (A): Gilt brass, enamelled and set with pearls. Clip with attached oval plaque, with outer ring of twenty-two pearls around translucent blue enamel over engine turning. Three single oval link chains to second oval plaque, as first but with oval ring with central clear quartz (?) domed window over woven hair, five drops under. Outer drops of three oval links with bell drops having ring of set pearls at bottom, and translucent enamel body with white enamel rings, each bell with three gold wire coil and three pierced pearls drops. Left hand central drop of two oval links with uncut seal at end with blue and white enamelled urn shaped handle. Right hand central drop of two oval links with blue and white enamelled oval handled key at end. Central drop of two oval link with safety clip for watch on end. All oval links with outer white enamel line, and blue enamel centre.
